Dispos-all

So, as I believe I've mentioned before, campus is an arboretum. That means there's this weird thing going on where campus is actually called the Scott Arboretum. But also Swarthmore College Campus. I think that the trees are the arboretum but the buildings are campus? I don't really know how it works. Anyway, during orientation week. the arboretum gave freshman plants. I picked a coffee plant because it's chill if it gets over-watered. I figured that means I could just dump water on it when I remembered to and not worry about over-watering, which is somehow easier than under-watering.
Since then, my plant has survived fine, because I keep water nearby. One of the guys in the quad next door was going to throw away and empty vodka handle and I was like "no, I'll keep it!" I filled it with water, and it lives next to my plant, watering it occasionally. It looks like I'm feeding my plant green apple vodka, but it's really water.
However, I attribute the real health of my plant to the fact that it's become my dispos-all. One of the problems of living in a dorm is that there really isn't a dispose-all. So with extra liquid (for me it's usually tea), it's a situation of dumping it out the window or walking to the bathroom. OR, feed it to the plant. Usually I opt for that one. My plant drinks tea, soy milk, coffee, and occasionally orange juice. It depends on what I need to dump. But it's thriving, so I can't see any harm in it.

Day 5: Today I am thankful for daylight savings time. That extra hour on Sunday was amazing.
